2010; Show no. 2

TGME @ Pop Rina's new collection launch, Cloth & Clef

Every time someone asks me the type of music TGME plays, I would always give a different answer. If I were to create a genre for them, they would probably fall under the post-indie-angsty-electronic-sometimes-psychedelic-sometimes-acidic-monster-truck-meets-boy-next-door kind of rock. I don't know. Stop asking me these things.

A very happy birthday to my very attractive friend, a girl (or should I say woman?) I insist on calling Nodt, who have seen me at my worst but still loves me anyway. She turns 25 today and I hope she knows that I absolutely adore her although she's a bit cuckoo in the head.

(I'm gonna re-carve you that soap I promised, scouts honor!)

Getting my ticket number called out in the Meet & Greet draw feels like wining a lottery for me. I mean, what are the odds, man? But it turns out lady luck wasn't on my side after all. I was supposed to be one of the lucky 3 that gets to meet Mono 'up close and personal' buuuuuut... it didn't happen :/ I was told by a crew who was standing at the side of the stage that it would be AFTER the show but apparently it was before. Good job man, bloody swell thing you did back there not knowing the event rundown. I don't mean to sound like a whiny bitch but with PMS, it's inevitable.

Apart from that, I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 hour show including Deepset's opening. My back hurts a little from standing too long though. Clearly this body is starting to fail on me. I could say I enjoyed it more while I was sitting down, just like how I prefer to listen to them at any other time. I was free to sway/bob my head as I please without annoying the person standing behind me.

After the show (and after my request to meet Mono for the Meet & Greet session was rejected!), Izzy and I stood in line and got our cd and tickets signed so it's all good in the hood.

So here's a few shots of them which is hardly any good because I was standing at the far end of the room. The fact that I'm a lousy photographer didn't help either.

Opening act, Deepset

MONO

/edit: Ahh yesss. And muchos gracias Izzuddin Musa for purchasing them lucky MONO tickets. We make a good team, him and I.

Heart Attacks!

RT @yunaroomrecords anyway... to be or not to be? read it and weep my friends!

Got my 65 Days of Static tickets *yays loudly* 2 minutes before this pops up on my Echofon retweeted by @nadirahrodzi. What the fuck?! How can I resist this? This is how, it's in CALIFORNIA. And we all know I'm no sultan's niece.

Sounds like it's gonna be one helluva festival, innit?

HAHA BELLA FTW!

This has probably been around for ages but I just stumbled upon this from http://cloveraya.tumblr.com/. Too funny. She's got some really interesting things going on in there.

Recent Developments

Took Pedro home after over a week of leaving him in the care of Izzy's maid. Pedro is my kitten by the way. Poor baby still hasn't grown. Damn tapeworms. Dr See gave him a bottle of orange goo which is supposed to be medicine for it. One thing I'm bad at is forcing animals to do things against their will. For instance, I let him poop on my carpet just because I don't have the heart to pick him up once he's "in position". Yeah, I know.

I hope the paycheck looks mighty fine this month. First thing I'm gonna do is buy me them 65 Days of Static tickets already. March will be a fantastic month. I can feel it in my bones.

If you're looking to score some one on one action with your new set of skullcandy earphones, feed Yndi Halda into your lobes for pure ear-gasm. It's this (not so new) post-rock band I instantly fell in love with when I came across them on last.fm a few weeks back. Although the only videos I could find of them on youtube were either recorded from a moving van or by a drunken turd. Maybe not, but the point is I hate shaky videos and that's all there was for me to feast my eyes upon.

I am such a lesbo for Shannyn Sossamon <3 She's my desktop wallpaper for the month.

Before I leave, do come and catch TGME's show at Overtime, KL Life Center on Jln Sultan Ismail Saturday night if you're not planning to kill yourself. They will be playing a 9-song set which is a mish-mash of electronica and post rock. Hope to see familiar faces there.

Till then, au revoir.

Lucky to be here

2009

I was one of those people who told you - often in a shrill, whiny manner to turn off the taps, use both sides of the paper and to refuse plastic bags from 7E when you only bought a Kinder Bueno and a pack of fags.

2010

I am still going to be that person.

Sorry I haven't been posting in a while. I haven't had an off day for weeks and I'm always too goddamn tired to do anything but play games that does not require an IQ of 150. Not that I need to think so much to write but let's just put it this way; I am the laziest person you will ever meet after a long day at work. But be rest assured I am freaking out on an hourly basis because there is still so much to do now that the event is only 6 days away. Yes, Ne-Yo Live in KL is 6 days away.

Enough about that. I had a good time last night welcoming the promising new year. I hung my party clothes and fancy heels for a nice, quiet night with the boyfriend. We had dinner at Paddington House of Pancakes (the best pancake place ever hands down!) and caught the fireworks at the Curve. Yeah, just the two of us teehee. We left for his place right after to play rock the boat. Haha. Jokes.

Well I hope everyone had a good time last night. Happy New Year. May we live to see 2011.
